I will contest Ashanti NDC chairmanship-Yammin declares

Former Ashanti regional NDC Secretary; Joseph Yammin has confirmed speculations he will contest the chairmanship slot of the NDC in the Ashanti region.

Joseph Yammin who addressed NDC constituency youth organizers from all 47 constituencies of the Ashanti region at a meeting held on the sidelines of the naming ceremony organized by regional youth organizer; Brogya Genfi, stated, that “unless the elections are not held, I will contest the party’s regional chairmanship”.

His announcement was received with great applause and shouts of joy. Yammin told the jubilant executives the NDC’s prospects of the 2020 elections looks good and believe with the right kind of leadership at various levels of the party the NDC should win back power in 2020.

He believes “with very good marketing executives no commodity will be difficult to sell on the market”.

He was visibly angry at the party’s loss and explained that the last election was one of the easiest elections the NDC could have won “considering the development projects on the ground and the campaigning we did”.

“When we talk, they try to silent us and remind us that it is not our job to do this or that. Some of us were thrown into police cell, forced into car booths and suffered several indignities for our party to win power but now they say we talk to much and that we have no locus to say certain things in the interest of the party”, he explained sullenly.

Joseph Yammin also encouraged party foot-soldiers to keep pursuing the interest of the party and not give up.

He also gave a succinct postmortem of the December 2016 elections and prayed for strength to forget the past and begin work towards election 2020.
