Agogo Queen Mother Formally Invites National Leaders to One-Week Rites for Late Nana Akuoko Sarpong.

The Queen Mother of Asante Akyem Agogo, Nana Afrakoma Serwaa Kusi Oboadum, accompanied by members of the Agogo Traditional Council, has embarked on a series of high-profile visits to formally announce the passing of the Paramount Chief, Nana Akuoko Sarpong.

On Tuesday, the delegation met with Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to officially brief the Presidency and leadership on the funeral arrangements.

Similar formal invitations were extended to former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at their respective residences, inviting them to the one-week rites scheduled for June 4, 2026.

The delegation, led by Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, also visited the NPP flagbearer and former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to personally deliver the invitation.

During these briefings, the Queen Mother explained that the Traditional Council is organizing the one-week rites following the completion of the mandatory 40-day mourning period required by custom.
