You are confused- Lecturer tells Mahama

Dr-BaahA senior LECTURER at the political science department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,(KNUST) Dr Richard Amoako Baah says the President, John Dramani Mahama seems like a confused person who is struggling to find a tree stump in the middle of a river.

According to him, the same president who recently accused pastors that spoke against his governance style as hypocrites is now calling for support from same men.

The lecturer who was speaking on a Kumasi based radio station, Hello Fm on the recent breakfast meeting the President held for the clergy in Kumasi as part of his accounting to the people tour wondered why the President was now seeking refuge from the ministers of the Gospel.

Almost dumbfounded, the veteran lecturer said it was strange for the same president who called fire to consume those who criticised him to now call on these same men of God to explain his policies to the public.

Dr Baah noted the President’s action can best be described as that of a confused person.

According to him, the President not only demonized the clergy but belittled their intelligence as he called them hypocrites.

This name calling attitude, he noted was very worrying as the President represents the people and does not need to antagonize those he had sworn to protect.

”How can you pour dirt on same people you want to court”, the lecturer drummed.

He added, ‘if you see your own people as hypocrites how can you ask them for help’.

Dr Amoako Baah therefore called on the President to first apologise to the clergymen before calling on them for support.

He mentioned the type of the people the President chose to insult were the same men and women who had consistently prayed for the peace of the country.

He called on called on political parties to accord respect and dignity to those who criticised them since all are aimed at shaping up a better society.
