NDC’s legal team ready to crush anyone on Mahama’s elegibility for Presidency

Mahama’s elegibility for Presidency -NDC’s legal team is readying itself to face whoever may show up to challenge John Mahama’s eligibility to contest the Presidency again.

This was revealed by Deputy Ranking Member Constitutional, legal and parliamentary affairs committee of Parliament; Dr. Dominic Ayine on Joy News’ Current Affairs Programme; Newsfile Saturday.

The eligibility of Former President John Mahama to contest Ghana’s next General Elections became subject of nationwide political debate when Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) raised the issue and suggested that the former President is ineligible to contest the Presidency.

Dr. Ayine is however convinced it will be a waste of everyone’s time for anyone to contest Mr. Mahama’s eligibility in the courts.

Editor In Chief of the New Crusading Guide; Kweku Baako Jnr. said Wontumi’s targeting of President Mahama was dead on arrival “unless you want to engage in some legal masturbation”. He felt Mr. Wontumi should have discussed with some legal experts before coming out.

Former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party; Nana Akomea who was also on the panel said the debate was completely needless. “All that is needed is the constitution”, he suggested and adds that the constitution is so unambiguous as far as the matter is concerned.

There is however no doubt that Mr. Wontumi’s outburst has generated a legal debate regarding issues on the tenure of Ghanaian Presidents.
