Governance expert and lawyer; Dr. Eric Oduro Osae says the matter of the leaked audio purported to be that of NDC national chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo should be handled by National Security.

He believes the Police service is not the right institution to handle the matter.

He was firm in his suggestion despite the fact that the National Security set-up is facing serious questions about its operations currently with a special focus on their activities during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections.

Dr. Oduro Osae who was a guest on Joy Fm’s Newsfile Saturday was of the view that the case involved analysis and work that goes beyond the Police.

He also expressed worry about similar meetings that have no leaked into the public domain.

He says he expects to see people facing prosecution over the contents of the tape.

Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has been strongly criticised after his rather controversial tape was allegedly leaked.

On the tape, the NDC Chairman allegedly urged the party’s communicators to target the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.

He is also heard allegedly inciting them to insult the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Emmanuel Asante.

In another part, he is again heard admitting that the NDC had a ballot box protection unit in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency during the by-election.

The NDC has, however, denied the authenticity of the said audio, insisting it was doctored.

Dr. Oduro Osae also supported IEA boss; Prof. Ransford Gyampo in suggesting that the church of Pentecost takes an interest in the matter.

He advised all Faith-Based Organizations to ensure that their members project the values of the faith or leave.

Executive Director for the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA); Sulemana Braimah who was also a guest on the programme however advised against introducing religious dimensions into the matter.
