Rethink Ofosu Ampofo’s church membership-Prof. Gyampo challenges Church of Pentecost

Head of IEA; Prof. Gyampo

Head of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Professor Ransford Van Gyampo has called on the leader of the Church of Pentecost in Ghana to take immediate action against the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over some damning utterances in a leaked audio attributed to him.

Prof. Gyampo, who says he is also a member of the Church of Pentecost wants the church to “rethink the membership of Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo”.

Prof. Gyampo insisted on Joy FM’s weekend News analysis programme; Newsfile that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has brought “monumental shame to the church of Pentecost”.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has been strongly criticised after his rather controversial tape was allegedly leaked.

On the tape, the NDC Chairman allegedly urged the party’s communicators to target the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.

He is also heard allegedly inciting them to insult the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Emmanuel Asante.

In another part, he is again heard admitting that the NDC had a ballot box protection unit in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency during the by-election.

The NDC has, however, denied the authenticity of the said audio, insisting it was doctored.

Prof. Gyampo says the church should not be quiet on the matter or else, the church’s vision for the year will not be achieved.
