John Mahama condemns NDC shooting incidence as criminal

Flagbearer aspirant for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has condemned the violent incident that occurred Monday at the Ashanti regional office of his party that left one dead and another in critical condition.

In a twitter message, Ghana’s former President John Mahama stressed that “it is clearly a criminal act” and called on the “Police and relevant security agencies to investigate, immediately apprehend the culprits and subject them to the full rigours of the law”

A member of the NDC’s taskforce in the Ashanti region who’s only name rawgist.com found out as Wasiu was shot dead and another critically injured while regional party executives met national party executives to plan towards Saturday’s primaries.

Police have cordoned off the crime scene and are investigating and have promised to get to the root of the matter within the shortest possible time.

The incidence comes at a time when the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is taking a lot of flack for election related violence that characterized a by-election held a few weeks ago.

The NDC goes to the polls on Saturday to elect their flagbearer ahead of the 2020 General elections.
