The bridge before it was swept off

The Chief and people of Anomatewa near Sefwi Bekwai but in the Wasa Amenfi Central district are stranded at the bank of River Kyekyebura. This was after heavy downpour that took away the bridge across the river.

The people, predominantly farmers are unable to transport their farm produce from their farms to the market.

Speaking with Awuku Addo of Bibiani based Henex Radio, cthe senior linguist of Anomatewa Okyeame Kwadwo Dartey lamented bitterly saying the DCE; Hon. Patrick Hockson Amponteng was there some time ago and promised to work on the road and the bridge in due course but has since remained silent on the matter till now.

They are therefore calling on the DCE to as a matter of urgency come to their aid since all their cocoa and other farm produce are trapped over bank.

The assembly member of Kyeikrom electoral area Hon. William Coffie confirmed that the Assembly and the DCE are aware of the deplorable state of the Anomatewa road and the bridge. They say it has even been awarded to a contractor who was on site to work but unfortunately his machine broke down and has since not returned.

He also called on the assembly, NADMO and well-meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid.
