“Ground is fertile doesn’t mean we are automatically winning 2020”-Asiedu Nketia

Ghana Politics News-General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned the youth of his party against being complacent in their work towards election 2020.

He says the mantra he keeps hearing is “the ground is fertile”.   He says it is true that the ground is fertile for the NDC due to the NPP government’s abysmal performance so far but warns that “2020 is not a done deal”.

“There are conditions that indicate we can win but it will only take hardwork to materialize”, he told youth organizers in the Ashanti region at a meeting to present certificates to them for previously participating in a capacity building workshop organized by former regional youth organizer; Yaw Brogya Genfi.

General Mosquito, as he is affectionately known, stressed the importance of the youth to the party and encouraged them to own the party.

“Soon enough, when you see some of us, we will be on walls with the inscription “Obituary”. So whatever you do for the party now is towards your wellbeing because some of us have done our bit and are getting weak”, he told them.

He charged them to understand the issues surrounding the National ID card project to enable them champion the NDC’s arguments and fight for the right thing to be done.
