What is MSG? Is it bad for you?

friedriceMonosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese food, canned vegetables, soups and processed meats. You may also get it in many of the food additives used in your local fast food joint.The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified MSG as a food ingredient that’s “generally recognized as safe,” but its use remains controversial. For this reason, when MSG is added to food, the FDA requires that it be listed on the label.

Headache
Flushing
Sweating
Facial pressure or tightness
Numbness, tingling or burning in the face, neck and other areas
Rapid, fluttering heartbeats (heart palpitations)
Chest pain
Nausea
Weakness
 
My question is why will you deliberately buy risk to your health? Why would you want to eat something as controversial as this especially in a country where regulations and labeling is almost non-existent?
 
Advice is, avoid a lot of these chemicals and just cook your own food. A lot of inexplicable diseases and known but incurable diseases do not come in a vacuum. Africans….return to your roots.
 
Remember when our ancestors used to live very long lives? One of the main reasons is the food they ate. Eat well and avoid chemical additives.
