Use your offices to help others-John Boadu charges gov’t appointees

Mr John Boadu, the acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admonished government appointees including ministers of state to use the offices they occupy to help others who are in need.

According to him, the only way one could become influential and useful to the citizenry as an appointee or minister was the kind of support they give to the people when they are in need.

Addressing the youth organizers at the sidelines of the recently held Ashanti Regional Delegates Conference, Mr Boadu cautioned appointees including youth organizers who were occupying public offices not to lord their positions over the people.

Rather, he urged that appointees serve in humility and in diligence so as to reflect the image of the president to the people and to the world at large.

WORK ETHIC:
Mr Boadu urged the appointees to display bouts of discipline in the line of duty, adding they occupy the office on behalf of the president.

According to him, it was important for appointees to lead the way in timeliness and punctuality at all times so as to help carry the people along.

He urged them to cut away the long bureaucracies that is associated with public office and rather attend to people wanting to get service.

Mr Boadu also urged them to apply all the needed work ethic in the fields and offices they occupied since that is the surest way of engendering public confidence in them.

RESOURCES:
Announcing his ambition to contest for the General Secretary position of the party at the upcoming national delegates conference, Mr Boadu promised to ensure the youth organizers are resourced to make their work easier.

According to him, it was important that party people get the needed resources to apply to the work they are assigned to do.

Having worked so hard to ensure the party won last year’s election, Mr Boadu insisted every organ of the party needs to be resourced adequately.

This, he noted would provide the necessary impetus for party officers to work hard to ensure the NPP stayed in power for long so as to provide better leadership to the people.
