Kofi Andoh Addison in a statement copied to rawgist.com says the NPP’s call is not borne out of good intentions for the country but rather for a litany of evil machinations.
He believes any move to compile a new register will afford the NPP the opportunity to register more minors in the Ashanti region, intimidate non-Akans and prevent them from registering especially in the Ashanti region and also implement their “all die be die” operation.
He also states that the NPP expects to market Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a potential flagbearer of the party and “make mockery of Alan and his group within the NPP”.
The TEIN secretary says the NPP has hopped on the issue of the voters’ register after failing in the use of other means to disturb the “peace and security” of the country.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is already listening to arguments for and against a new voters’ register for the country’s 2016 elections.
NPP EXPOSED! ON THEIR CALL FOR A NEW VOTERS REGISTER.
It is pathetic as to how the leadership and followers of NPP (Nana’s Personal party) are working in line with the merit of COS 90 to jeopardize and disrupt the nations ultimate pride of ‘PEACE and SECURITY’. It was our wish that NPP would demonstrate their wicked and divisionary tactics ranging from ACID BAPTISM to physical assault and death threat only within the four corners of their party. However its unfortunate their destined opposition leader (Nana A. Addo ) has disintegrated their party which has allowed them space to translate their evil behaviors in the whole of Ghana. In pursuance of these, the leadership of NPP upon several attempts landed on attacking the integrity of the nations electoral system immediately after their baseless argument in the Supreme court of Ghana.
The first phase of this was when NPP attacked the personality of the EC appointed by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in line with the full provisions of our Constitution. Some of these allegations by the NPP were:
– The EC was unqualified and incompetent.
– The EC was partisan and that she belongs to the NDC.
– The EC will be partial and favor NDC in the execution of her mandate which contradict the independency of the commission.
However NPP was unable to effectively push forward these argument due to lack of strong evidence to support their irrelevant claims. Upon realising the weakness of their above argument, they quickly resorted to the issue of VOTERS REGISTER.
In our nations quest to depening democracy by ensuring transparency in our electoral system, The electoral commission of Ghana introduced biometric registration in the compilation of voters register and ultimately used in the 2012 general elections. It is not strange that for the first time Ghana is adopting this new development in our electoral system, we cannot achieve 100% efficiency in the process thus the few challenges of which the commission is putting measures to address them.
Today and from no where the failed leadership of the new patriotic party (NPP), frustrated followers and other disappointed members of the party are demanding and pressuring the electoral commission of Ghana to rely on their baseless research with a misplaced methodology to change the entire voters register under duress to their benefits.
It is important to put on record for the consumption of all stakeholders that NPP’s rational for their call on EC is not just to change the voter’s register but rather use that period as an avenue to embark on the following evil act:
- MASSIVE REGISTRATION OF MINORS TO BLOAT THE VOTERS REGISTER IN ASHANTI REGION IF NEW ONE IS TO BE COMPILED.
DELIBERATE VANDALIZATION AND BRUTALITY AGAINST NON AKANS IN ASHANTI REGION TO PREVENT THEM FROM REGISTERING AND VOTING ACCORDINGLY DURING ELECTIONS.
AN AVENUE TO PILOT THEIR ‘OPERATION CHAOS IN GHANA’ TO MONITOR THE REACTIONS OF SECURITY AGENCIES TO INFORM THEIR STRATEGIES FOR “ALL DIE BE DIE” COURSE. THIS IS INJURIOUS TO NATIONAL SECURITY IN GHANA.
NANA ADDO’S MARKETING STRATEGY TO PUT MARKET VALUE ON BAWUMIA AS A POTENTIAL FLAGBEARER AND MAKE MOCKERY OF ALAN AND HIS GROUP IN THE NPP.
In view of all these issues, I humbly suggest to the currently scattered NPP to shut up on the issue of new voters register and make Ghanaians enjoy the peace we have in the country and also give NDC a break in 2016, organise and solve their internal problems in 2020, elect competent leaders for the party in 2024 and come for a good contest in 2028.
LONG LIVE GHANA!!!
LONG LIVE NDC!!!
LONG LIVE TEIN-NDC KNUST
