Joseph Yammin shocked at Presbyterian church and Christian council

yamminFormer Ashanti regional NDC Secretary Joseph Yammin has expressed utter shock that the Presbyterian church after its General Assembly meeting last week never issued a statement urging striking medical doctors to return to work.

“The Presbyterian church ended their general assembly meeting and never made a statement appealing to doctors to return to work.”

Joseph Yammin who was speaking on the Ultimate Morning show on Kumasi based Ultimate FM explained that the Presbyterian church seems quick to wade into issues of a political nature but did not lift a finger when people were dying due to the GMA’s strike.

“This is not the first time they have held a general assembly meeting. The last time the met there was an issue about creation of new constituencies, which was a hullabaloo in this country then. The Presbyterian Church’s General Assembly issued a statement asking gov’t to ensure it doesn’t plunge the country into chaos. why do they run to make statements when it is political?”

He also expressed surprise the Christian council has not made any such statement as far as he knows.
