STORY BY MICHAEL OFOSU-AFRIYIE, KUMASI

Ghana News-The Chief Executive Officer for the National Petroleum Commission, Lawyer Egbert Faibille Jnr says his involvement in the then famous gold scam case got the fraudsters prosecuted.

Reacting to a video that was premiered by the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyepong Wednesday Night, Mr Faibille said all that is in the video has been previously addressed by him.

According to the NPC CEO, Anas conducted an investigation on the gold scammers and having established solid grounds for prosecution he advised for same to be pursued.

This, Mr Faibille said was and is his involvement in the fraud case, adding all issues emanating afterwards are only a rehash of a dead case.

He dared the eccentric MP to take the video or any other evidence he claims to have to the courts if he so wishes.

CONVICTION:

Lawyer Faibille noted that nothing untoward was done by his person to be associated with any wrongdoing.

He said he declined the offer by the MP to watch the ‘who watches the watchman’ video because he saw nothing of importance in it.

He said the video was only a rendition of the part of the video where Anas mentioned his name to show the scammers that the duped company was tracking who received the money.

Mr Faibille noted that his work as a lawyer led to the prosecution of one Hafiz, the lead scammer and his accomplices at an Accra High Court.

‘’I did not receive any payment from the scammers for or on behalf of Anas to kill the case as Hon Kennedy Ageypong is dubiously trying to portray’’

CHALLENGE:

Mr Faibille has meanwhile challenged the vociferous legislator to provide any proof of any lodgment into his account from the scammers.

‘’I challenge Kennedy Agyepong and the scammers to provide any proof of any lodgment into my account from them’’, Mr Faibille stressed.
