Emena noise maker to face court after rawgist.com intervention

horns-speakersThe operator of the Victory Information Centre at Emena; a suburb of Kumasi is expected in court Thursday 7th May, 2015.

This follows several complaints to various entities including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Ashanti regional Police Command and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly about the unbearable noise the information centre makes.

The centre which begins broadcasts at 5:30PM everyday, plays loud music, re-broadcasts football commentary, engages in advertisements among several other broadcasts.

Until the KMA noise unit seized their equipment over a month ago, residents were concerned the noise would have a huge impact on the Emena school as well as the Emena Hospital which were close by. Many could not have a good rest due to the loudness of the noise in their rooms.

rawgist.com’s collaboration with some of the residents however seem to have brought relief to the people of Emena.

Officials of the KMA noise unit also promise to take drastic action against all manner of noise makers in various parts of Kumasi especially residential areas.
