DKM liquidation brouhaha: Brong Ahafo gets office for liquidator

DKMDistraught customers of dummy Micro Finance Company, DKM Diamond will now heave a sigh of relieve following an intervention by the Brong – Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council which has secured a temporary office in Sunyani where customers will submit coloured photo copies of their deposit slips to aid the appointed liquidator to have an appreciation of the number of clients who have been duped by the company and the amount involved for the purposes of the liquidation process.

The move by the Coordinating Council according to the Public Relations Officer, Mr.Kobby Acheampong who spoke on Radio B.A.R was to address the concerns raised by customers of the company who have questioned why Brong- Ahafo Region which was the most affected Region was not chosen as one of the Regions designated for customers to submit their documents to the liquidator. Recently, one of the national daily newspapers carried out a publication to the effect that, one Jemima Oware of the Registrar General’s Department who have been appointed as a liquidator for DKM is requesting the affected clients of the company to submit coloured photo copies of their deposit slips to designated offices in the Ashanti, Greater Accra, Western and Northern Region, with Brong – Ahafo not considered as one of the Centre’s for the submission.

According to Kobby Acheampong, following a negotiation between the Coordinating Council led by the Regional Minister, Mr. Eric Opoku and the Liquidator, a temporary office has been secured by the Council for the affected customers in the Region to submit their documentation to save them the trouble of having to travel to Kumasi or any of the designated offices for similar exercise and its attendant inconvenience.

He disclosed that, the facility which was going to be used as temporary office for the exercise is a training center built by RLG Company for persons with disabilities which is located behind the Park around the Centre for National Culture on the Sunyani Polytechnic Road. According to the P.R.O, the facility is being refurbished by the Regional Coordinating Council to make it befitting in readiness for the conduct of the exercise, adding that, personnel would also be employed to work in the office who would be responsible for the receipt of deposit slips from clients for onward submission to the liquidator.

He announced that, the office would start operating on Thursday April 21, 2016 and urged all affected customers of the company in the Region to submit the coloured photo copies of their deposit slips to officers who would be stationed there from 7:00am to 5:00pm throughout the week. According to him the Coordinating Council is putting in place measures to make the process safe and convenient for every affected person from far and near to have an opportunity to lodge their document without any hindrance.
