CCC members donate blood to honour Head Pastor

Scores of members of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) Saturday morning took turns to donate blood to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) blood transfusion unit.

The gesture by the church members was to honour their Head Pastor, Reverend Ransford Obeng who turned 63 years last Thursday.

As early as 8am members were seen queuing up at the main entrance of the church to undergo the processes in donating blood.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper moments after donating blood some of the members expressed delight at the opportunity to give blood to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and also to honour their General Overseer.

GENERAL OVERSEER:
Speaking to this reporter after donating blood at a sixth time since 2014, Reverend Ransford Obeng said it is always a delight to give to support the needy in society.

He noted that there were a lot of misconceptions about blood donation and for six years the church has demonstrated it is possible to give blood without having any negative effects.

CCC, the Head Pastor said believes in supporting ventures that bring relief to people in the society.

This, he noted guides the church in all its activities adding the church will continue to donate blood to the KATH blood unit so long as members have strength.

”CCC is a giving church and we are committed to supporting the society where we are planted and even at 63 years i am determined to lead our blood donation drive so we give to support the needy”, Rev Obeng noted passionately.

KATH BLOOD UNIT:
Kwame Asenso Mensah, Head of Blood Donor recruitment at KATH commended CCC particularly its Pastor for leading such a large scale exercise.

He noted such voluntary donations help to support the unit to provide blood services all year round.

Mr Asenso revealed that the unit have had tremendous support from Senior High Schools across the region.

He urged the public to always take advantage of blood donation outreach programmes to donate blood once they know they are fit and healthy  to do so.

”Everyone can give blood once the person feels that he or she is fit and healthy just as the members of CCC have done this morning”, Mr Asenso noted.
