Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party
Mr Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on religious leaders as well as heads of civil society organisations (CSOs)to condemn the unsavoury utterances of the former President, John Mahama.
The NDC leader recently used a term to describe people from the Eastern Region, specifically the Akyems.
This unfortunate description got the President who hails from same area to express disgust at the attitude of the former President.
Mr Adomako has in a release copied to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper has asked CSOs and religious leaders to voice out their condemnation of the utterances.

PRESS RELEASE BY FANCIS ADOMAKO:
The highest office of the land, as stipulated in the 1992 constitution of the republic of Ghana is the Office of the President.
Thus, after one is able to occupy the office after his term, is regarded as a statesman.
John Mahama, now the candidate of the NDC is privileged to have occupy this office as Vice and subsequently, President of the land.
However, his recent outbursts in the campaign tour seems contrary, the behaviour of a statesman.
Candidate John Mahama, is on record to have shared a comment on his Facebook wall made by the MP for Bolgatanga, Hon. Isaac Adongo, describing a certain group of people where the President hails, as Akyem Sakawa boys and Akyem Mafia.
In fact, many were those who wondered as to how a person of his calibre could stoop so low by supporting such derogatory comment in the description of people from Akyem land in the country.
To worsen matters, candidate Mahama has failed to apologize to the good people of Ghana after making that sorry post which raises eyebrows on his statesmanship status but rather, has encouraged his people to defend with impunity!
As if that unfortunate comment was not enough, he has made another demaning comment when he was addressing traditional leaders at Nadowli in the Upper West Region where he wished the death of the current President.
Since when did issues of death become campaign messages in this country? Is he doing this out of desperation or what has actually come over candidate Mahama?
The long silence of our CSOs and The Christian Council of Ghana over these reckless comments from John Mahama have the tendency of weakening our democracy tenets we’ve long enjoyed in this country.
I am by this article appealing to our various leaders who matter on issues of this nature, to call candidate John Mahama to order.
