Do not forget to honour John Kumah as you take over as Ejisu MP- NPP activist advises Lawyer Boateng

Represent youthful leaders well-Abigail Adjei congratulates Lawyer Boateng

Madam Abigail Adjei; a youth activist and a member of the New Patriotic Party has congratulated Lawyer Kwabena Boateng following his victory in the Ejisu by-election held on 30th April, 2024.

In an interaction with rawgist.com, Madam Abigail Adjei, raised two main issues viz the relevance of the youthfulness of the MP-elect and also the need to honour the late Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah for his contribution to the constituency that laid a solid foundation for him (Lawyer Boateng) to build on.

Madam Abigail Adjei was excited that another young person had taken over the leadership of the constituency. She stated that the trend of youth leadership in the country was good for development.

“Times have changed so much along with the development paradigm that all over the world, the old is giving way to the young as far as leadership is concerned. I strongly believe that the current MP-elect for the Ejisu constituency per his age, education, apprenticeship on the field of politics and exposure is an excellent choice that will help bolster the development of the constituency” she said.

She believes the election of a young person to lead the constituency reveals a significant paradigm shift in the way Ghanaians think about leadership.

While praising the people of Ejisu for their decision, she advised the MP elect to “not disappoint the people of Ejisu and for that matter, Ghana”.

“See this as an opportunity to make a strong case for other youth seeking leadership responsibilities. Also use this opportunity to honour your predecessor; the late Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah who laid a great foundation on which you are about to build”. She was hopeful that the close relationship that existed between the MP-elect and the late former MP will ensure continuity in projects in order to speed the development of the area.

She explained that the late John Kumah’s victory over Hon. Aduomi was not a walk in the park. “His victory and activities in the constituency have contributed to your victory” she stressed and recalled that Lawyer was a part of John Kumah’s campaign and hence should understand.

Lawyer Kwabena Boateng polled 27,782 votes representing 55.79% of the total valid votes cast while his closest contender Kwabena Owusu Aduomi obtained 21536 votes representing 43.24% of total valid votes cast.

The by-election was necessitated by the passing on of the MP; Hon. John Kumah.

Before becoming the MP-elect for Ejisu, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng was the 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency.
