Ashanti NPP prays for flagbearer

wontumiA special prayer and intercession event was held last Saturday by the Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) in Kumasi.

The program christened ‘Ghana for peace crusade’ was used to say prayers for the NPP flagbearer, the Ashanti Region and Ghana.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Prophet Adu Boahen, Head Pastor, Christ Revival Baptist Ministry and initiator of the prayer session said it was prudent for Christians to pray ahead of the upcoming polls.

He stressed, ‘no time was to be wasted since the 2016 General election promises to be a crucial one’.

This, he mentioned requires that christians rise up to prepare the grounds for a peaceful poll in November.

Prophet Boahen noted the potency of prayer, adding God moves in the prayer of his children.

He therefore called on the public to join the church as it prays ahead of the upcoming election.

‘The prayer of the righteous is able to prevent chaos, confusion and strife”, Prophet Bonsu stressed.

In a chat with the paper after the prayer session, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP expressed his delight to be part of such a spiritual exercise.

He noted the commitment of the party to allow God to lead the way as it prepares to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress, (NDC).

Chairman Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Wontumi’ predicted victory for the NPP, stressing the party was buoyed in that fact because it is going to the elections with God as its leader.

Present at the prayer session were representatives of other parties including the Ghana Freedom Party.

Also at the function a former Deputy Minister of Ashanti Region, Osei Asibey Antwi.
