Akwanuassah Gyimah endorsed as new Asokwa MCE

Ghana Politics News-Assembly members and government appointees at Asokwa have unanimously endorsed Mr Akwanuassah Gyimah as Chief Executive for the newly created municipality.

Garnering a hundred percent in the votes cast to confirm his nomination, Mr Akwanuassah, a former 1st Vice-Chairman for the Asokwa New Patriotic Party has thus become the first Chief Executive to head the Municipal Assembly.

Earlier on before the votes were cast to confirm the nominee, the 16 present assembly members verbally pledged their unalloyed support for Mr Gyimah.

The open show of support by the elected members was adequately reflective in the manner they cast their ballots as none of them voted against the President’s choice.

ADMONITION:

Speaking earlier and after the confirmation ceremony, the Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah urged the nominee to be transparent and diligent in the handling of affairs at the assembly.

He tasked him to be guided by the development agenda of the Municipality so as to focus on priority areas in addressing challenges in the Asokwa Community.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei, MP for Asokwa commended the elected assembly members for making the confirmation process a seamless one.

She, however, charged the newly confirmed MCE to hit the ground running by collaborating with all stakeholders in the Municipality to chart a development path.

MCE:

Mr  Gyimah who was overcome with joy, tearfully thanked the elected members as well as government appointees for endorsing his candidature.

He pledged to work to ensure the Asokwa community gets its desired development and progress.

The MCE rallied for support from traditional leaders as well as residents in the Municipality to ensure they collectively work for its good.

He stressed his determination to operate an open door administration so as to allow everyone to have opportunity to contribute to the development of Asokwa.

‘’I am committed to making sure the President’s vision for Asokwa is realized through the deployment of all the human and natural resource potentials embedded in it’’, Mr Gyimah noted.
