You are a true mother-Ashanti women organizers praise first lady

Ghana News-New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women organizers from the 47 constituencies of the Ashanti Region have lauded the efforts of the wife of the President, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

Visiting the first lady at the Jubilee House last week to physically commend her for efforts in helping the needy and vulnerable in the society, the group said the decision to construct maternity blocks at both the Komfo Anokye and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospitals is ample evidence that the First lady values human life.

These constructions, the women noted will help to prevent the unfortunate deaths that were occurring at the Mother and Baby Units (MBU) of both hospitals.

They expressed profuse delight at the completed MBU unit at the Komfo Anokye, Teaching Hospital (KATH) adding the edifice possesses the requisite equipment to enable mothers get proper care when they visit to give birth.

LEADER OF DELEGATION:

Speaking earlier on behalf of the group, Nana Ama Ampomah, Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer praised the wife of the President for showing that she cares.

Mrs Ampomah said though the position the first lady occupies is something ceremonial, it was gratifying that Mrs Akufo-Addo was using the position to bring relief to the poor and needy in the society.

This, she noted is a clear sign that the first lady knows the purpose God placed her near the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mrs Ampomah also used the occasion to thank Mrs Akufo-Addo for assuring the women’s wing of resources to make their work effective at all levels.

WIFE OF THE PRESIDENT:

In her succinct remarks, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo thanked the women for taking time to come and show appreciation for her efforts.

These efforts, she noted are geared at nothing but to better the lot of the less privileged, vulnerable and poor in the society.

She noted that her desire is to see mothers go to the hospital and deliver without any complications or poor treatment.

Ghana, Mrs Akufo-Addo mentioned should aspire to give her citizens, particularly, the poor, the sick and needy better care at all times.
