Wontumi builds in honour of Baffuo Akoto

Ghana News–Mr Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the decision to build a befitting regional office was expressly taken to honor the memory of the late Baffour Osei Akoto, a founding father of the Busia-Dombo-Danquah tradition.

Speaking at an impressive sod-cutting ceremony in Kumasi, the flamboyant Chairman said ‘Okyeame Baffour Akoto by his exemplary and sacrificial attitude showed this party is worth dying for’.

He encouraged party faithful to learn from the sterling qualities of the late linguist of Asanteman whose toil and generosity ensured the NPP tradition was nurtured and watered for future political struggle.

Accompanied by the wife of the Vice-President of the Republic, Samira Bawumia as well as Madam Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff and other distinguished personalities of the NPP, chairman Boasiako later cut the sod for the construction of the party office at the Subin Constituency town of Dadiesoaba.

‘’I am happy today to be the regional chairman who is being joined by party faithful to cut the sod for the construction and completion of this modern office’’, Mr Boasiako joyfully noted.

CHIEF OF STAFF:

Speaking at the event earlier, Madam Frema Osei Opare, the Chief of Staff commended the efforts of the regional chairman.

She said, ‘the very idea that has given birth to this ceremony today signifies the visionary nature of Chairman Boasiako’.

Madam Opare urged other regional chairmen as well as constituency executives to take a cue from Mr Boasiako and ensure they build party offices in their various regions and constituencies.

FIRST LADY:

In her succinct comments, Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice-President rallied party faithful to exemplify the sacrificial traits of the late Baffuo Akoto so that the party will remain solid forever.

She noted that passion and sacrifice are what drives performance, adding these two traits are what the NPP unleashed to win power to bring competent leadership to the people of Ghana.

DAN BOTWE:

Mr Dan Kwaku Botwe, the Minister for Regional Integration underscored the importance of sacrifice and hard work.

He implored party members to adhere to these traits so that they together with other party executives can build a solid and vibrant NPP.

Mr Botwe commended the Ashanti Regional Chairman for showing the way things could be done and urged all members to do their bit to support the NPP at all times.
