Road contractor runs to Nana Addo

Ghana News–Ali Issah, a Kumasi based road contractor has asked the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to intervene to help him get property he claims has been fraudulently taken from him by Prudential Bank.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi, Mr Issah whose company is Ali Issah Construction Company Limited claimed the bank has ensured he lost three houses he built.

The bank, he claimed has fraudulently laid on him charges of default of payment and had engineered crude ways to take two other houses including one he built at Bantama that served as collateral for loans he collected from them.

According to Issah, the bank has not treated him fairly even though he trusted them to take good care of his funds and relationship he built with them.

REMEDY:

Mr Issah, road contractor with 30 years of experience said even though he has taken time to seek clearance from the bank why they sold off two other houses of his no one seems to be minding him.

Several appeals for audience with the manager, he mentioned has fallen on deaf ears despite assurances to look through the matter.

Mr Issah noted that he has filed a case against the bank at the Kumasi High Court to get the bank to explain their actions.

The courts, he stressed will afford him the opportunity to show documents he has with the bank to prove his case.

APPEAL:

The contractor has meanwhile appealed to the President to take interest in the matter pending between him and the Prudential Bank.

According to Mr Issah, the government’s good intention to encourage the public to invest at the banks will suffer if such actions are not stopped.

He advised other contractors to be wary about deals and partnerships they sign with financial institutions so as to safeguard their investments.

He asked the court to come readily to the aid of clients of banks so as to help citizens keep their investments intact.
