MTN gives to children born on Christmas & Boxing days

MTN Ghana has donated over 160 hampers containing several assorted baby care items to children delivered on Christmas and Boxing Days throughout Ghana.

In Kumasi, the MTN team made donations at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the South Suntreso Hospital and the Tafo Hospital.

Acting General Manager for MTN’s Northern Business District; Charles Osei-Akoto explained to rawgist.com the donation is in line with the season’s activities to show love and care. He says Boxing Day is a time to give gifts and show love hence MTN’s annual tradition of giving to newly born babies and their mothers.

Authorities of the various hospitals where the donations were made were excited and expressed their gratitude to MTN. They encouraged MTN to do more to lighten up the mood of the women in the maternity wards who are going through various levels of pain and unhappiness for a variety of reasons.

The Principal Nursing Officer at the Komfo Anokye Hospital’s Mother and Baby Unit; Margaret Ama Obeng, encouraged other corporate entities to emulate MTN’s gesture. She also advised spouses, family and close friends to endeavour to visit the unit and encourage the women since childbirth can be a very painful and difficult time.

The recipients of the hampers from MTN where full of praise and smiles. They say the contents of the donations will help them a lot.
