“Lordina Mahama will never interfere with the work of government functionaries”-Aide

First-LadyAn aide to the first lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama has asked Ghanaians to disregard falsehoods being circulated about her.

An allegation purportedly from some senior ministers in the ruling NDC government is that the first lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama is pestering them for non-existant favours; a situation they say has the potential to severely affect the government. The informer newspaper goes on to say that some of these ministers are planning to resign their positions in government due to pressure from the first lady.

Alhaji Mumuni Saaka Adam, an aide to the first lady has however dismissed the allegations.

He insists in an interview with Techiman based Winners (98.5) FM that the first lady has never interfered in the governance of the country “and will never do so”. He also adds that the President is very firm in his decisions and will not allow himself to be swayed even by his wife.

“Lordina is a legitimate first lady who apart from taking care of her home, runs her NGO; Lordina Foundation. She never interferes with her husband’s job. For those who know John Mahama well, they know how he is…that he is firm and will not take instructions from any quarters, not even his wife.”

Alhaji Mumuni Saaka Adam says the news making the rounds against the first lady are orchestrated to detract the President and adds that discerning Ghanaians disregard the news and lend their unflinching support to the first family to enable them work for the wellbeing of Ghana.

He also cautions disillusioned members of the ruling government who have nothing else to offer the better Ghana Agenda to stop putting impediments in the path of government.

“The President is doing very well for the country. The best we can do as good citizens is to support him to succeed and not denigrate him”, he said.
