Traders at Techiman cry over poor sales and filth

marketSome traders in the Techiman Market in the Brong Ahafo Region have complained bitterly about the slow pace of business after the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The traders who spoke to rawgist.com in an exclusive interview said though the trend is a recurring one around this time of the year, this year’s situation is the worst they have experienced in a long time.

Yam and tomato sellers  were among the most hit by the situation.

As has become normal in Ghana, the market women laid the blame on the doorstep of government and asked the government to as a matter of urgency turn the situation around.

Meanwhile, many of the traders also complained about the haphazard disposal of both solid and liquid waste in the market making trading activities in the area very uncomfortable and also made passionate appeals to the local authorities to take action to save the big market from the filth that is swallowing up the market.
