I’ll sponsor Asante-Akyem marathon for life-Kwadwo Baah Agyemang

Ghana News–The Chief Executive Officer of Sportslife Agency, organisers of Asante-Akyem Marathon, Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang says he is committed to the unearthing of talents in the field of Athletics in the country.

This, he noted explains his passion in sponsoring the annual marathon event in Asante-Akyem, an ancient community in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, the former MP for Asante-Akyem noted his desire to continually sponsor the annual Easter event.

The competition, he stated brings both amateur and professional athletes from the ten regions of Ghana and other nationals from the West-African Nations to compete for honors and to participate in other international events.

‘’I am satisfied with the massive results we continue to chalk from the Asante-Akyem Marathon year in year out and I am working and praying to sponsor it all my life as God gives me strength’’, Hon Baah noted.

With sponsorship hard to come by, Hon Agyemang noted his delight with the efforts of his friends in the corporate industry.

He rallied them to keep supporting the Easter event so that together they could help to bring to light hidden talents in the country.

Many, he noted would have remained in oblivion despite having the potentials to compete for Ghana at the highest level.

He therefore appealed to corporate and private institutions to come to the aid of the Asante-Akyem Marathon with sponsorship so that the competition can be used to attract more people in Ghana and also across the continent of Africa.

‘’I am grateful to God that every year friends from Corporate Ghana help me sponsor this event and I appeal to other multinationals to help this project as we help to unearth hidden talents in the country for a better future for Ghana sports’’, the former MP reiterated.

APPEAL:

Speaking publicly for the first time on the recent Commonwealth Games in Australia where some Ghanaians were arrested and deported for carrying fake documents, Hon Baah Agyemang, the former Chairman for the National Sports Authority (NSA) called for calm from the public.

He urged that the public allows the investigative bodies to finish with their work so as to enable the country deal with the recurring problems that arise from global events the country participates in.
