I will buy MTN shares-Ashanti Chief Imam

Ghana News-The Ashanti regional Chief Imam; Sheik Abdul Mumin Harun is lacing his boots to acquire shares in Ghana’s largest telco; MTN.

He revealed this to rawgist.com when officials of MTN made a donation to him ahead of the Eid-al-Fitr celebration.

MTN has an annual tradition of donating items to the Ashanti regional chief Imam after each Ramadan period. This tradition has been upheld for over a decade.

This year, the items donated included boxes of mineral water, cartons of vegetable oil, bags of rice, packs of soft drinks, a ram, airtime worth 300 Cedis and a cash donation of two thousand Cedis.

In addition, MTN is also sponsoring the 19th edition of Nima Sallafest, which is the largest gathering of Muslims in Accra and the Accra New Town Sallafest.

MTN’s Northern Business District manager for Mobile Money; Mr. Stephen Asare who led the MTN delegation used the opportunity to remind the Chief Imam of his company’s Initial Public Offer (IPO) of shares.

For his part, Sheik Abdul Mumin Harun extended gratitude to MTN and assured the company that his doors are always opened to them.

He also indicated his interest in acquiring shares in MTN; a venture he believes will be very lucrative. He also urged Ghanaians to see opportunity in the IPO and participate.
