I want more “Napos” in Manhyia South-Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh

Ghana Education News-The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia-South, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh says his desire is to create an enabling atmosphere for children in the constituency to study so they could attain the level God has brought him to.

Speaking to the media after presenting some 22, 400 reading books and some cupboards to 16 basic schools in the constituency last Friday, Dr Prempeh emphasized the importance of education in the life of a populace.

He said but for education there was no where he as well as many others in the country could have risen to the level they could impact knowledge to help in Nation building.

Dr Prempeh, famously referred to as ‘Napo’ asked parents to take advantage of the opportunities the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government has created to enroll wards in school.

‘’My desire is to see children in this constituency as well as others across the country go to school and aspire to be whoever they wish to be in life because some of us but for education would not be occupying positions of influence’’, Dr Opoku-Prempeh stated.

HEADMISTRESS:

Taking delivery of the books and other learning materials, Mrs Martha Owusu Agyeman, Metropolitan Education Director thanked the MP for the gesture.

She revealed that Dr Prempeh, who doubles as the Education Minister has for about 8 years consistently donated to schools in the constituency.

Two libraries stocked with books and computers, Mrs Agyeman noted has been constructed by the Manhyia South legislator to help schools in the community.

Mincing no words, the Metro Director charged the beneficiary schools to take good care of the books they have been given.

‘’I urge the beneficiary schools that just as the MP has found it prudent to continuously donate books to us, you in same token keep the books well so that others may be encouraged to give generously to augment government’s support’’,

BOREHOLE COMMISSIONING:

In a related development, Dr Opoku Prempeh has commissioned a borehole built at Ash-town -Down town, a popular area within the Manhyia-South constituency.

The construction of the borehole follows an appeal the assemblyman and residents laid before the MP recently.

Residents, by our checks were unable to access water anytime the Ghana Water Company Limited failed to provide same for the community.

Speaking succinctly to the media, Dr Prempeh urged residents to take good care of the project but asked that water be collected freely from the site.

The legislator asked the Assemblyman not to worry about maintenance but make the bill available to his outfit anytime there is a need for repair works.
