Ghanaians overhyped Martin Amidu only to find out his incompetence-Yammin

The Special Prosecutor is over-hyped and incompetent. This is the opinion of former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister; Joseph Yammin.

The leading NDC member says he, like many Ghanaians, is disappointed at the performance of Mr. Martin Amidu.

Martin Alamisi Kaiser Amidu took office as Ghana’s first Special Prosecutor in February, 2018. He is mandated to investigate and prosecute all corruption related cases, overcoming any existing institutional bottlenecks to the process.

Ghanaians are however yet to see the impact of that office after over a year.

Joseph Yammin wonders why he continues to draw salary “whiles doing nothing”. He believes the office was created for fun and not to fight corruption as Ghanaians have been made to believe. He says the former Attorney General has failed woefully and should resign to save face.

Mr. Martin Amidu has complained about some challenges he is dealing with as far as his office is concerned. He has mentioned staffing and logistical constraints as well as the non-cooperation from Heads of various institutions among other.
