First Ashanti Livestock Show ongoing in Kumasi

goatLivestock farmers in the Ashanti region are taking part in a three-day exhibition to showcase their animals and products in a bid to boost the industry.

The Ashanti Livestock Show opened at the Kumasi Cultural Centre Sunday.

On display are animals such as goats, pigs, rabbits, sheep, cattle, grass-cutters among others.

Organizers say the exhibition will also serve as a platform to highlight the challenges facing the livestock and poultry industry in the Ashanti region. It forms part of the government’s efforts to boost consumption of made in Ghana products to support the local industry.

Visitors to the exhibition can also purchase any of the animals and products on display.

The event is under the auspices of the ministry of food and agriculture in collaboration with its supporting agencies and partners.
