Final year students of Amaniampong SHS threaten violence over clearance fees

riotFinal year students of Amaniampong Senior High school at Asante Mampong in the Ashanti are threatening violence after their last examination paper tomorrow.

About 400 male students of the  school are protesting  a fee the school authorities are demanding from them before signing their clearance forms.

The students say they have been asked to pay 12 cedis each, an amount they say has not been approved by the Parent Teacher Association.

One of the students who wants to remain anonymous disclosed their planned action in an interview with Ultimate Radio.

He says the school’s bursar insists on the payment.

However the head master of the School Fredrick Addei who refused to speak on record said he is surprised at the decision of the students. He says the fee was instituted by the student representative council but not the school administration eight years ago.
