DSP Godwin Ahianyo is the Ashanti Regional Police PRO
The Ashanti regional Police Command says her doors are opened to the media especially as the nation approaches a major election scheduled for the month of December.
Speaking in an interview during the GJA/US Embassy’s Media Convention 2020 held at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi, the PRO of the Ashanti regional Police; Godwin Ahianyo explained that the police more effective with the collaboration of the media and hence encouraged media personnel to cross check facts with the police where it concerns them.
He also encouraged media to approach Police personnel on duty at events and places where they need to report so that they will be protected as they do their job.
He believes strongly that if the media act responsibly and collaborate effectively, the forthcoming elections will be peaceful and incident-free.
The theme for the media convention was “The 2020 elections: Role of the Media in promoting civility and discernment in the political discourse”.
