Ask Nana Addo to choose between KATH project & restoring Nursing trainee allowa-Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed the media to ask President Akufo Addo whether he thinks paying nursing trainee allowances is more important than completing the hanging projects at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia was speaking on the Pulse; a current affairs programme on the Joy news channel Wednesday with Gifty Andoh.

Asiedu Nketia who seemed unaware of the ongoing discussion generated by a joy news documentary “Next to Die” was quick to ask the host to direct the question regarding the project to the President.

He seemed to suggest that the NPP government with Nana Akufo Addo at the helm of affairs had their priorities misplaced.

The documentary; “Next to Die” throws light on the heart-breaking state of healthcare at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. In the video, nursing mothers could be seen lined up in a corridor, breastfeeding. The documentary by Joy News’s Seth Kwame Boateng highlighted overflowing maternity wards where one baby cot takes as many as eight newborn babies. Expectant mothers lie on benches and sit on chairs for long hours because there are no beds for delivery.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia who answered questions on several running issues also suggested that the NPP government is shifting goal posts as far as their promises go. He explains that the NPP is now shifting from “Free SHS now” to “Progressively free SHS”.

“They won’t have life easy. We will hold them to their every promise”, he said.
