One person was shot dead at a close range by suspected armed robbers on the Kumasi-Atebubu Road Friday afternoon.
Local police who confirmed the incident to rawgist.com’s Dabre Abdul Rauf said the armed robbers had already stopped four other vehicles and was robbing occupants of their belongings.
Another vehicle; a San Yung Urvan travelling from Kumasi to Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo was stopped by the robbers but refused to stop; a situation which angered the robbers who then started to fire shots at the vehicle killing one person on board.
The incident happened on a curve few meters away from Hiawoanwu community.
The robbers according to reports succeeded in robbing millions of cedis from the passengers who were mostly traders.
The body of the deceased according to the Police is at the Mampong Hospital morgue.
