Akufo-Addo has failed God, how much less you? – Ashanti NDC Chairman

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi says Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwaa Akufo Addo has failed in his quest to honor God  with a National Cathedral within his first term in government.

He said, in the run-up to the 2016 elections, the then-candidate Nana Akufo Addo sought the face and favor of God, and pledged to build a tower to his glory, yet, four years on, nothing has been done about it.

Although the president has taken giant steps to get it done, the regional chairman holds a different view. He says the President has no intention of completing it as promised.
Prior to the construction of the National Cathedral, the country’s Passport Office, and houses occupied by 14 court of appeal judges in Accra were demolished and relocated to create a 70,000 squared meter plot for the project to commence.

The COVID-19 may have contributed to the slow pace of its construction.

While at it, the government received serious bashing from opposition political parties and other pressure groups for demolishing other government buildings to pave way for the construction of the proposed edifice in honor of God.

The NDC chairman raised these issues on Oyerepa Breakfast show on 23rd November 2020.

“Based on these assertions, the president has not been honest to God, and if he has the audacity to deceive God, how much more you, the ordinary Ghanaian. If he is committed to his sacred promise to God, that should have been his number one executed project’’ he said.

He, therefore, implored all well-meaning Ghanaians to reject the presidency of Nana Akufo Addo and vote for Ex-President John Dramani Mahama on the 7th December 2020 presidential polls.
