Nana Okotwasuo Akyeabema lll of Sefwi Asempanaye

Sefwi Anhwiaso traditional council in the Western North region has refuted claims by the Chief of Sefwi Asempanaye near Awaso in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality that NDC is the government of the people of SEFWI.

The Chief; Nana Okotwasuo Akyeabema III of Asempanaye eulogized Former President John Mahama when he paid a courtesy cal on him at Asempanaye recently. It formed part of the former President’s three day tour of the Western North Region themed “Speak Out for Mahama is listening”.

The Chief stated that almost all development projects that could be seen in the area were initiated by the NDC government.

The statements made by the Chief however did not go down well with the traditional council.

In a Media engagement, the Atipimhene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council; Nana Kwadwo Bonya stated that they as chiefs are ready to work with any political party or government and are not drawn to any particular party. He called on Nana Okotwasuo Akyeabema III to retract his statement and apologize since his declarations are unfounded. The traditional council also reminded him that chiefs are no expected to dabble in partisan politics.
