There is pressure on Medeama to deliver-Tom Strand

Tom-strandHead coach of Medeama SC; Tom Marcus Christian Strand has noted that there is enormous pressure on his team to perform in Sunday’s clash against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The team with the ‘yellow and mauve’ colors did not start the season very well, losing consecutively to league Champions Ash Gold and Hearts of Oak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

According to the gaffer for the Tarkwa-based club, there are a lot of expectations from the club recounting from the point that they won the FA Cup last season coupled with their brilliant show piece in the super cup.

In an exclusive interview with Kumasi-based Otec Fm, the Swedish tactician highlighted “It is a crucial match for us and we have to do our best, we have to take maximum points from Kumasi. Yes, of course there is pressure on Medeama. The expectations from Medeama are high because we won the FA Cup and the Super Cup. The fans expectations are also high so, we (Medeama) have to live up to that”.

In addition, he identified one major problem of his team to be their inability to convert chances which he is working assiduously at.

The 32-year-old Swede’s is in the last year of his contract after crossing carpet from premier league side Bechem United in 2014 and will want to leave an indelible foot print after his exit.
