Workers of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are entitled to GHC 3,000 worth of free medical care. KATH also plans to build Occupational Health Clinic to cater for staff and their family.
This according to the hospital’s management is to encourage productivity.
Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the facility,Mr. Isaiah Offeh-Gyimah announced this at Best Staff Awards and Inter Directorate/Unit Sports Festival for KATH staff in Kumasi.
“A string of welfare packages including sponsorship for further studies, free medical care, staff provident fund and free shuttle services have been instituted to improve staff welfare”, the CEO revealed.
“Staff provident fund now stands at 8.8 Million Ghana Cedis while looking forward to handsome bulk sums to retiring staff to compliment what they recieve from SSNIT at age of 60”.
One Hundred and Twenty-one categories of staff were given special awards for their contribution to the facility. They included; Best Nurses-junior category, Best Nurse- senior category, Best Midwife, Best Physician Assistant, Best Health Care Assistant and Best Allied Health Staff-junior category.
Ashanti Reginal Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong on behalf of government urged the awardees to be selfless as government continues to announce more packages for hospital staff across the country.
