NPP is committed to undertaking legacy projects—–Ben Abdallah Banda.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso South, Hon Ben Abdallah Banda says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under President Akufo-Addo is committed to carrying out projects that would outlive their mandates and tenure.

He noted that flagship projects and policies such as the free senior high school, one village one dam and the one district one factory are initiatives that have been tailored to outlive the NPP as government or anyone government after it.

Addressing a colorful gathering of chiefs and people of Offinso, the three-time MP indicated his resolve to follow the example of the President by instituting projects that would outlive his mandate.

Enumerating several projects he has undertaken for the past decade, Hon Abdallah noted that the construction of 11 boreholes by his outfit in the communities of Namong Ampaaso, Amowi, Ayensua-fufuo, Camp 31 and others were aimed at helping these communities have access to potable water.

He also mentioned the construction of residential apartments for nurses posted to the Abofuor as well as the construction of school blocks in about 11 communities in Offinso including Offinso main-town as legacy projects by his office for the people.

‘’The NPP government since President Kufuor days as well as under Nana Akufo-Addo is committed to carrying out projects that would outlive them and these are the true description of what we call legacy projects’’, Hon Abdallah posited passionately.

DONATIONS:

Presenting an excavator and a grader to the Offinso Municipal Assembly at the event, Hon Abdallah mentioned that the equipment was given to him by the Local Government Ministry to aid them in the work they do at Offinso.

The Health directorate, the Education Directorate and the Ghana Police Service also had some motorcycles each from the MP at the event.

Presenting a brand new ambulance to the Municipal Health Directorate, Hon Abdallah recalled with a teary eye a medical case where a pregnant mother died while being transported in a tricycle to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) because the Abofour medical facility could not attend to the case.

Hon Abdallah also cut the sod for the construction of a multi-purpose market at Offinso and accompanied by the Free SHS ambassador the MP supported by the former’s outfit collectively donated about 25, 000 exercise books to the Education Directorate for kids in basic, Junior as well as Senior High Schools in the Offinso community.

‘’I am by God’s grace carrying out all these donations and exercises to show my commitment to you as a people and my respect to the Omanhene of Offinso, Nana Wiafe Akenten III that I value his advice and counsel and would ask for your prayers to be able to do more as I continue with my mandate as MP for Offinso and as your chief servant’’, Hon Abdallah noted to applause.

PARAMOUNT CHIEF:

Addressing the gathering earlier, Nana Wiafe Akenten III, the Offinsomanhene urged politicians to seek counsel from traditional authorities on projects they want to undertake in their jurisdictions.

According to the famous Chief, traditional leaders have good ideas and plans when implemented would turn out to benefit the larger society.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the projects carried out by the MP and NPP government in his area which he described as an influential one and called government and MP to re-double their efforts.

‘’We as chiefs have been here in our jurisdictions for a long time before some of you became government appointees and MPs so at least credit us with some level of knowledge so that we pass same to you when embarking on any project on our lands’’, Nana Wiafe noted.
