Napo demands apology and retraction from Sammy Gyamfi, Kwame Zu

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South and Education Minister is demanding a retraction and apology from Messers Sammy Gyamfi and Kwame Zu over some unsavoury comments the duo made on his person last Thursday.

The two leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at separate forums linked the Manhyia South MP to one of the arrested kidnappers of the two Canadian girls, Seidu Mba.

At these separate forums the two NDC men said the MP who doubles as Education Minister has been using Seidu Mba as an errand boy.

Sammy Gyamfi, the communication officer for the NDC in a hurriedly arranged press conference said ‘Seidu is an errand boy for both Manhyia South MP, Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako’.

Similarly, Kwame Zu, the Ashanti Regional Secretary for the NDC on Okay fm on Thursday alleged that, ‘the boy Seidu is a known member of the NPP who works with the Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP Manhyia South’.

REBUTTAL:
But writing on behalf of their client, Sarkodie Baffuor and Partners, solicitors for the Education Minister said the claims by the NDC leading figures are untrue and malicious.

They argued that Dr Napo does not have any links with Seidu Mba nor patronises his services.

The solicitors furthermore asserts that the allegations on their client are malicious and calculated to make Dr Napo look like somenone who encourages and benefits from thuggery.

They also reject the claims that Seidu Mba has been running errands for the Manhyia South MP.

RELIEFS:

In a statement copied to your authoritative Ghanaian Observer newspaper, the solicitors on behalf of Dr Napo are demanding an unqualified apology from the two leading NDC members.

The solicitors are also requesting the eventual retraction of all the claims made by Messers Sammy Gyamfi and Kwame Zu on same platforms they used to carry out the malicious communication.

The solicitors furthermore demand that the reliefs they are seeking be carried  out in 48hours upon receipt of either the public notice of the action they have commenced or by private service to both persons accused of spreading the falsehood.

Notice is also served by the solicitors that Dr Napo is waiting to institute legal proceedings on the two upon their  failure to carry out the needful to the satisfaction of their client.
