Nana Addo’s Ashanti visit was a mockery of himself-Joseph Yammin

Ghana Politics News-Ashanti NDC Chairman hopeful; Joseph Yammin says the President’s visit to the Ashanti region was a fruitless one.

“He just came to the Ashanti region to rest, he didn’t come to do anything”, he raved.

Joseph Yammin; the former Deputy Ashanti regional Minister told Bernard Buachi of rawgist.com “his so called one district one factory he commissioned is actually someone’s cooking oil production company that is already in operation”.

He says the one district one warehouse facilities that were commissioned were also existing warehouses. He questioned what project President Akufo Addo had undertaken.

“The warehouses he commissioned at Ejura are lying waste…not even one block has been laid”, he said and adds that as far as one district, one warehouse is concerned, they are not building anything new but only renovating existing warehouses.

He explained how the Nana Addo led government is taking glory for the asphalt overlay of Kumasi roads and explained that the contracts were already awarded before Nana Addo’s rise to the Presidency.

Joseph Yammin also questioned why the President could not visit a big site as the the Kejetia project site “but rather chose to visit public toilets and private facilities.

“Kejetia is a very prestigious project as far as the Ashanti region is concerned but the president did not see reason to visit that project. What about the military hospital that has been built and continues to see postponement of its commissioning? Won’t the President go and see the state of that facility? What about the Sewia hospital? Hasn’t Nana Addo seen that one? But he sees it fit to visit warehouses under renovation and private companies to say it is one district one factory”.

He insists the NPP government led by Nana Akufo Addo has done nothing in the Ashanti region so far that is his own initiative.

Joseph Yammin is contesting the Ashanti regional NDC Chairmanship position.

He took advantage of the interview to express his confidence in the NDC delegates and expressed confidence that he will be elected Ashanti NDC Chairman a few weeks from now.
