Mr Noel Kojo Ganson, MTN Chief Marketing officer handing over the symbolic key to George Amoako, CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club at a ceremony today in Adako Jachie.

MTN-Ghana, the main sponsor of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football club Thursday morning, handed-over a refurbished pitch to the club at Adako Jachie, a community near Ejisu.

The idea behind the project was to enhance the nature of the training pitch and to prevent the players from getting injured due to the bad surface of the former field.

Speaking at an elaborate ceremony, Nana Osei chief of Adako Jachie expressed delight to MTN for the project and entreated the players to give out their best in all matches.

He, however, appealed to MTN to complete the washroom being built and also separately construct a changing and resting room for the players somewhere near the pitch.

CEO OF KOTOKO:

Mr. George Amoako, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko commended MTN for the massive work carried out on the club’s training pitch.

‘Please join me to say Ayekoo to MTN the most reliable sponsor of this football club and this is why we have never regretted our partnership with them’, he stated.

He assured that the pitch will be maintained to stand the test of time and serve the purpose it was constructed for.

Mr. Amoako stressed that the 9 years (2010-2019) partnership with MTN has been a good one and hoped that the telecommunication network would continue to be of assistance to the club.

CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER (MTN):

Speaking at the event, Noel Kojo Ganson, Chief Marketing Officer-MTN said he was delighted to officially hand over the newly refurbished training pitch to Asante Kotoko.

He noted that there must be a constant investment in football and this is why MTN believes the renovation of the club’s training pitch was an important endeavor.

He disclosed that the refurbishment of the pitch included the re-branding of the venue, re-grassing of the pitch, fencing of the venue, provision of a seating area for the technical team and substitute players.

“This investment preceded a previous contribution of GH C 375,000.00 made by MTN towards the construction of changing rooms and offices for the technical staff of Asante Kotoko in 2011” Mr. Ganson revealed.
