MTN cautions against sale and patronage of pre-registered SIM cards

MTN has cautioned her agents against selling pre-registered SIM cards to the consuming public.

This is because of the numerous Mobile Money (MoMo) related fraud cases being recorded daily.

Mobile Money fraud was one of the major highlights of a town hall meeting organized by the telecommunications giant for the people of Asante Akyem Agogo and surrounding towns.

Corporate Services official at MTN; Madam Georgina Asare Fiagbenu explained that the onus lies on users of Mobile Money services to take precautions against MoMo fraud. She discouraged customers from disclosing their PINs to MoMo agents or anyone at all.

She tells rawgist.com that MTN will continue to educate customers on the different methods adopted by sophisticated fraudsters to dupe MoMo users.

The customers, including chiefs, Security services, MTN agents, farmers, students, teachers, Health professionals and other carefully selected folks had the opportunity to ask various questions involving Network coverage, Mobile Money, Social responsibility among several others.
