MTN Walkathon 2019: MTN screens customers, calls for healthy lifestyles

MTN Ghana Saturday held a health walk and medical screening exercise for her customers in the Ashanti region.

The event forms part of the company’s annual Ashantifest celebrations.

Senior Sales Manager for the MTN Northern Business District; Simon Amoh explained that MTN believes strongly that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation and will hence do everything within her power to ensure the health of Ghanaians who are MTN Ghana’s primary customers.

He also hinted that the event was a way of giving back to the loyal customers of MTN within the region who have kept the company going for several years.

The walk also brought officials and customers together in an atmosphere that allowed for various interactions and activations.

The walk which has become known as the “walkathon” was patronized by several hundreds of residents within the Ashanti regional capital.

The event which lasted about four hours Saturday morning saw officials and customers of the company clad in yellow t-shirts take a walk through some principal streets of Kumasi. There was also an aerobic exercise component as well as a health screening exercise during which people were screened for a wide array of health conditions including Blood Pressure, Hepatitis B, nutritional and dental conditions.

Participants in the walkathon were excited and expressed gratitude to MTN for the package which they said was very thoughtful. They entreated MTN to sustain the exercise and if possible expand it.
