MTN Ghana launches Media Awards

Journalists in Ghana are gunning for mouth-watering prizes as part of MTN’s 25th Anniversary Bright Media Awards Competition.

The awards, launched online on Friday, 5th November, 2021, is open to all journalists across the country and cuts across the various types of media.

To enter the competition, journalists are expected to produce news articles on the topic: MTN Ghana: 25 years of brightening lives and enter their stories digitally via brightmediaawards@mtn.com before 5PM on November 25, 2021.

Chairman for the launch; Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng who announced the rules of the competition hinted that the overall winner will take home GHC25 000. 00 worth of prizes, comprising cash, digital devices, a plaque and a citation. Winners for each of the various categories-radio, TV, print and online will also take home GHC 10, 000. 00 worth of similar prizes.

He stressed that the works submitted needed to be original and not one that has been previously published. For print and online journalists, feature articles should not exceed a thousand words while radio and TV entries (audio or video) should not exceed 5 minutes.

He encouraged the use of “digital approaches” and stated that there will be a special award for photo presentation on the topic, with proper caption and context.

Nana Gyan-Apenteng expressed gratitude to MTN for their commitment to the development of journalism in Ghana.
