A 45 year old carpenter is threatening to sue the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital over the death of his wife.
Mr.John Acquah is accusing nurses and doctors of the Hospital of negligence after the wife Mari Ayeh ,42, died on the 15th of September shortly after delivering a baby boy.
He told LIVE NEWS he rushed Mary to the health facility around 1am on the said day when she started experiencing labor pains but the nurses on duty told him there was no doctor around to attend to her.
He said the doctor on duty reported at about seven hours later at about 9am and immediately after, Mary was taken to labor ward 2 and left there on her own.
According to him before the nurses could realize, she had delivered a baby boy and died thereafter.
He wants the law to deal with the health staff on duty at the time of the incident as well as compensation for the loss of his wife.
But when Live News contacted the Public relations Officer of Korle bu teaching, hospital, Mr. Mustapha Salifu, he said the issue has not come to their attention.
He added until the matter is reported to the management of the hospital there is very little management can do.
Mustapha Salifu however refused to speak on record.
