Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu has defended the construction of the Rotary Park in Kumasi.
The mayor who was speaking on a range of issues on Nhyira Fm’s morning show Thursday explained that “we need a playing park for relaxation which will also serve as a playing field for our children”.
The construction of the Park in Kumasi has come under severe criticism especially from some members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) who question the project’s usefulness to the people of the region.
The mayor reveals “it’s not been easy” for him in office especially in the face of various allegations from some members of the assembly and NDC party members in the region.
He is however not perturbed by the numerous votes-of-no-confidence threatened by his detractors describing it as “healthy democracy”.
The KMA Boss says he will continue to do his best for residents of the Metropolis. He also hints of unannounced visits he intends to pay workers in Kumasi as well as several projects which will change the metropolis for the better.
Mayor Kojo Bonsu says he is impressed by the sanitation programme at the Kejetia bus terminal as well as the entire metropolis .
