The Ashanti Regional Women Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ama Ampomah on Monday and Tuesday toured the Effiduase as well as the Kumawu constituencies of the Ashanti Region to campaign for the party ahead of the 2020 polls.

She used the tour to also feed and provide some food supplies to widows and the less privileged in the communities visited.

The tour by the leader, is part of a scheduled campaign program by Madam Ampomah to touch base with people in the 47 constituencies at their houses and markets.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Madam Ampomah said she intends to use the tours to woo more people to vote to retain the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for a second term in office.

STRATEGY:

Madam Ampomah revealed that the tours had given her the opportunity to learn at first hand challenges in the communities within the constituencies.

She said many were open with their complaints and shared freely with her what they think could be done to address their challenges.

Madam Ampomah, who is popularly referred to as ‘’pretty giant’’ said she had used the tour to campaign for the two NPP parliamentary hopefuls contesting in the upcoming polls in December.

This, she noted, would help the party to achieve its target of getting majority seats in Parliament 2020.

STRATEGIC MEETINGS:

The women’s organiser revealed that the campaign tour also afforded her the opportunity to discuss grass-root strategies with the contesting parliamentary hopefuls.

In the Effiduase Asokore constituency, the women leader said she had fruitful discussions with the MP hopeful, Dr Nana Ayew Afriyie.

The discussion, she revealed, centered on ways to make the campaign very local and one to one where the COVID-19 protocols could still be maintained.

Madam Ampomah commended the wing’s patrons and campaign members such as Madam Adwoa Dokua, Genevieve Akoto and Ama Poku for providing funds and other resources for the activities of the wing.
